I would have called it a Custom 22S or something. I like the blade so much more than the rotary. A few clear coat indents or scratches but nothing through to the wood.

WELCOME TO

Bob Leggitt Saturday, 10 December From the late s, the Levinson company brought something a little more sophisticated to the world of Strat copies. For the previous few years, much of the variation on the Strat theme had been focused around the genre of hard rock, with humbuckers, pointy headstocks, divebomb-compatible trems and luminous finishes combining to produce guitars of which Spinal Tap would have been proud.

Or, the cheaper option: So imagine the shock, in this climate, of asking for information on the Strat of the future, only to be handed a catalogue… with a bloke in a double-breasted suit on the front cover! Yes, it’s that catalogue.

Here’s a quick guide to help you get an overview of the legendary Jackson® Rhoads import guitars, made in Japan from thru These guitars seems more popular than ever, as I am getting many questions about them lately.

Nor is it possible to discuss all of the many people and companies who have contributed to its passage through history. It seems that Walter’s intention was to produce a bass guitar that would be appealing to players of the upright bass double bass who no longer wanted to carry such a big heavy instrument around to play in beat and jazz groups. So we got a bass that has the style and shape not unlike a classical stringed instrument and built in much the same way, hollow bodied, arched topped and a set in neck.

He had used all of these on his Club guitars the year before. The prototype Violin Bass in It differs slightly from production models as it has a black scrachplate and control panel and the logo on the body is on the upper bass bout, not under the tailpiece. The headstock shape also appears to be slightly different to the final production design. The Violin Bass gets its public debut at Frankfurt Musikmesse in Today we don’t know if anyone paid any attention to the new little bass.

Perhaps they did as an electric bass guitar was, in , quite a new thing! These have almost all concerned hardware changes, the body remaining virtually the same, while the neck has became slimmer. The following is a brief summary of the changes made. We don’t know why this was done, presumably to improve the tone. The “black bar” pickups change to “Toaster” types.

Peavey T The T was the first guitar Peavey ever produced. It was a market changer due to some of the new ideas and manufacturing techniques employed on this guitar for the first time. It was conceived in , first produced in not really until and stayed in production into I think the prices are dirt cheap for what this guitar is. I was pretty skeptical at first but I felt like I really needed to try one or more. At a few hundred bucks a throw it didn’t cost much to give it a try.

I found and bought three 79′, 80′, 81′. I didn’t want to try just one. I wanted to make sure I got a real feel for the guitar and got to try the 81′ with the “blade” pick-ups rather than the “toasters” used previously and after. Most of the first ones came in a natural finish rather than being stained like the one above or painted a solid color.

Charvel import guitars 1986-1991

It is in fact the very first “Club-Style” guitar that I have seen with Hofner-fitted active electrics. So, it was even more disturbing to hear that the guitar, after being purchased “on-line”, had arrived in pieces and was in very poor condition. Luckily, the new owner, Bob Cocozza, has employed the services of James Payze in the UK Red Barn Repairs to restore the guitar, the results of which can be seen on the linked page. It is interesting to see that this guitar was fitted with a centre body sustain block, which is very unusual on a “Club-Style” guitar..

It did actually appear in the “New Guitars” supplementary price list of Spring together with the Fledermaus guitar, but not in the main Hofner price list. I haven’t been able to find any reference to it in any Hofner catalogue.

This comprehensive Charvel guide will enable you to determine the year of production and verify any of the legendary Japanese made Charvel guitars, designed by Jackson Charvel and built by the Japanese Chushin Gakki factory back in through

Moderne A musical chimera, shrouded in the silvered mists of myth and legend, the Gibson Moderne has long been known as the enigmatic “guitar that never was” Designed as the third member of a trio of guitars in the new Modernist Series, prototypes of which were displayed at the NAMM show, the Moderne was originally intended to be the sibling of the Flying V and the Explorer, but never made it off the launch pad the way the other two then-futuristic classics did.

HOFNER GUITAR PICKUPS

As a sessionist he belonged to a group of LA based guitarists that did the majority of session work around town for both the movie studios and the labels. Long before select groups nicknamed “The Wrecking Crew,” or Motown’s “Funk Brothers” and Nashville’s “A-team,” they were essentially the first wave of professionals that got the calls. They consisted of players like George M.

The SRV Strat debuted at the Los Angeles NAMM show in January and started hitting music stores by March. It is not a limited edition guitar, and is readily available today. Though Fender does not release sales data, it has been said that the SRV Strat is a strong seller.

Swiss made Blade guitars?

Wednesday, October 22, Bending Acoustic Guitar Sides Crafting an acoustic guitar is not only about design and acquisition of desired wood. It’s about tools necessary to accomplish the project in a way that is successful. In my short tenure of building acoustics, I’ve learned one important thing. You must either have a full piggy bank and a willingness to part with large quantities of cash, or the ability to create unusual tools necessary for a satisfactory outcome. One of the tools of the trade is a side bender, which is used to form raw wood into the desired shape for a guitar body.

Blade Delta Classic Electric Guitar, Swamp Ash Body, Hard Rock Maple Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard – Honey. The Blade Delta Classic T4 is nothing short of a work of art. Combined with the VSC circuit this guitar can go from country to rock and jazz to down and dirty blues at the flick of a switch.

Hi, I bought a strat style Levinson Blade at the weekend. I originally went to go for a Mexican Strat as a 2nd guitar to my Gibson Les Paul Standard, but dspite all the good reports and reviews I wasn’t impressed, the necks were not nice to play. The guy in the shop suggested and American one, but these were out of my price range, and so he suggested I try a 2nd hand Levinson Blade, which was a much nicer guitar, far superior neck, and sounded much better, so I bought it.

I used it at rehearsal on Sunday, very nice through my Cornford MK50 What I can’t seesm to find out is what model it is, or what age, so need some help. It is Strat shape with headstock similar to a Strat one Cream finish with white scratchplate Heavy body, so presumably Ash Maple neck, rosewood fingerboard 1 volume and 1 tone pot 5 position selector No extra toggle switch and no electronics on board, which seems unusual Vintage style trem 2 screw with 3 springs 2 Fender style string tensioners on the headstock Serial no starts with an 8 can’t remember what it is, will check when I get home All help appreciated.
